Materials
Three 50 gram balls of double crepe (60% acrylic and 40% wool) made at Mosgiel, New Zealand.
(Half a ball left. The leg is generous.)
A pair each Nos. 11, 10 and 9 knitting needles.
Cuff
Cast on 52 stitches using No 11 needles: Rib 20 rows
Leg
Change to No 9 needles
1st row - k3, p1, k3, p1, to end
2nd row - p to end
3rd row - k2, p1, k3, p1 to end
4th row - p to end
5th row - k1, p1, k3, p1 to end
6th row - p to end
7th row - k4, p1, k3, p1, to end
Repeat the pattern 5 times, or for as long as you want the leg
Heel
Change to No 10 needles; Stocking stitch 14 stitches for 17 rows
Turn this half of the heel -
Row 1 - k2, k2t, k1, turn
Row 2 - sl 1, p3, turn
Row 3 - k3, k2t, k1, turn
Row 4 - sl 1, p4, turn
Row 5 - k4, k2t, k1, turn
